That's weird. The preview should auto-close before you see the Delete prompt. Works 100% here (PDF-XChange).

I assume the PDF is previewed in XY when you try to delete it? It should still work, but some preview handlers (especially Adobe) sometimes behave badly.

Yes, I had the same thought. But refresh is complex and there are countless parameters. Anyway, I add a primitive refresh command and hope no one wants refinements

refreshdrives() ... crazy, it sounds so XY-ish, I almost feel compelled to add it just because that word is missing.

I'll consider that toolbar refresh.
