I can't seem to rename in or copy to folders other than Downloads or virtual folders (as far as I can tell), it shows the error in the image - either can't copy or folder in use so can't rename.
I've tried restarting the program and my computer, and running XYplorer as admin but it doesn't work. One thing that might be important is that I recently unchecked some things from autoruns but I also looked over that and don't think anything relevant is unchecked (I make XYplorer open on startup).
It also can't make new folders, but also can't copy files.

Re: can't copy or rename
You can't create folders named ".". Neither in XY nor in Windows Explorer...

Re: can't copy or rename
I'm not copying to a folder named ".", but I guess that's what xyplorer thinks for some reason? I'm copying a folder (that has a name with no illegal characters or dots) to ...\Documents\school , and it seems like xyplorer wants to create a folder called "."
Re: can't copy or rename
And we don't know what exactly you are copying to be able to say what might go wrong.
So, I'm out...

Re: can't copy or rename
Here are some more screenshots of different situations where I'm trying to cut a file from downloads to documents (overwrite the file in documents), try to create a new folder in documents using the new folder button, and try to copy a folder named 'media' into the documents folder.
Same issue happens with all the other folders too as far as I can see (except for downloads).
It works fine if I use a different file explorer.

Re: can't copy or rename
So it's probably a rights issue. Try to create it *as administrator*.

Re: can't copy or rename
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I make the folder as administrator? I tried to run xyplorer as admin and that didn't work if that's worth something.

Re: can't copy or rename
You mean
1) you run xyplorer as admin and could not create the folder
OR
2) you could not run xyplorer as admin
?
What you should do:
1) run xyplorer as admin
2) create the folder
3) if this does not work, show me the error message

Re: can't copy or rename
I can run XYplorer as admin, but it does not create the folder.
I've attached the error messages for a bunch of situations, with XYplorer run as admin.
Just before I was about to submit this I realized what the issue was... windows security controlled folder access. I thought it was already set up because xyplorer already appeared in the "Allow an app through Controlled folder access" but I just removed it and re-added it and everything works fine. That would explain why I could modify the downloads folder but not any other folder, and I guess Windows just decided one day to not allow xyplorer through.
Sorry for the hassle and thank you for the help!

Re: can't copy or rename
Your messages are long and confusing. Is there still a problem? If it is a permissions problem, XYplorer cannot solve it for you. You need to take care of it yourself.
