Hi Don,
I love XYplorer and how you keep working to make it even better. (like that is possible...)
I can't thank you enough for that, but maybe I could take care of the Catalan translation.
Let me know.
Thank you for your passion and dedication to XY, it shows.

Hi BK,
Fantastic! I'd love to see a Catalan version of XY!

Happy 2013 Don!
Don't count me out just yet
The Catalan translation is really coming.
It's just a bit delayed due to:
-New year madness (that includes dec-jan)
-My decision to follow official Catalan translation guidelines. (which among other things dictate that different terms/verbs should be used depending on the context)
(yes, I had to restart my translation from scratch)
-My lack of familiarity with the terminology. (I use soft in English)
-Not wanting to release a partial/beta translation.
If I had to give you an ETA I'd say 3-4 weeks.
BTW if you have no translators for Spanish I could take care of it too.

what is the policy for TM XY terms eg: Branch View?
If we deviate too much (and don't translate documentation) I could be bad.
My inclination would be to keep the originals.
What are the other translators doing?
Thanks

Same here, except that at some point (moving, dec-jan madness, another translation I'm working with, several parallel stuff to do, etc *must* come first!) I'll be releasing an alternative '101% translated version', which means: *everything* will be translated, including those XY-unique terms, which I kept track of here:
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 879#p78879 (may be updated, but the basic idea remains there).

Oh, sure, welcome back! Great!
Spanish: Well, how could I say no to that!

I'm sure you don't mind if I take Catalan now out of the list. You had your chance. Two of them.

When my hair's all but gone and my memory fades
And the crowds don't remember my name
When my hands don't play the keys the same way
I know you will still love me the same
So I saw the Finnish translation and was inspired to, you know... finish the catalan translation.
As of today we have a catalan translation conforming to
http://www.softcatala.org standards.
I still have a few doubts concerning special XY terminology (eg branch view) which in general I have elected not to translate.
I think software -and all other forms of artistic expression- should not be translated at all but my love for XY is such that if I can help a single calalan use XY I'll be happy.
Merry Christmas and happy 2016!!
