An odd issue but I think it may be a bug. When I have bolded active tab set in Configuration and I have my normal locked tabs which extend basically the full width XYplorer, and the active (bolded) tab is the right end tab my left tab (1) is missing. If the active bolded tab is any tab other than the right most tab, the problem does not happen (i.e., my C:\ tab (tab 1) is present. Note: my right most tab also happens to be my default tab as well.
If I uncheck the bolding feature for the active tab in Configuration, the issue does not exist. It's easy to see simply by applying and removing the bolding active tab feature while still in Configuration
Bolded active tab with right most tab active and bolded results in the left most tab (C:\ (tab 1) missing.

Hopefully the pics aren't too confusing. I didn't want to show the entire tab bar length - but show the left and right side of the tab bar for each condition.

Re: Bolding a right most tab causes the left most tab to disappear
hi! i have near the exact setup as you with the main exception being my left-most tab is set to "Default Tab" (all other tab settings are the same, e.g. locked, bold for active, etc.). i also am not showing icons in the tabs (if that matters).
with "Default Tab" enabled, i do not have your problem. if i turn off "Default Tab", i experience the same issue as you are. since i run "Default Tab" on the left-most tab of both panes 100% of the time, i would have never seen this issue.
running 25.40.0300.

Re: Bolding a right most tab causes the left most tab to disappear
Hi GreetingsFromPoland, thanks for the input. In my case I didn't mess with default tab. In both cases the default is set as my right most tab. When I turn off default for that right most tab the disappearance of tab 1 (C:\) still occurs. So, the disappearing act of tab 1 occurs when my right most tab is active and bolded and it doesn't matter whether it is default or not.

Re: Bolding a right most tab causes the left most tab to disappear
Thought so. All the available space it filled up. So the left-most tab is moved out of view. It's a feature, and it's also how the universe works.

Re: Bolding a right most tab causes the left most tab to disappear
I'm not sure I buy that totally. Yes, as I mentioned it only happens when the right most tab is close to the end of the panel. I still think it's odd though Don. In the last few minutes I've found out that it only happens when the default (right most tab) is on it locked home position. When it's on a different location (remember it's a default), the tab 1 is present even when the total path size of that location is much larger in width than the default home position (i.e., the home for that default right most tab is simply "D:\") and when the location is there, tab 1 is gone. However, when I go to a different location like "D:\DVD\ImgBurn", the full path of that right most default tab is shown as well as tab 1. So, it looks like the space is tightened up when there's a long path in the right most default tab because tab 1 is present. When it on home, "D:\", tab 1 is gone.

Re: Bolding a right most tab causes the left most tab to disappear
Negotiating space between tab headers is a complex, multi-stage optimization problem. There may be rare marginal cases where the result is counterintuitive. But overall, the algorithm has worked well for many years in the vast majority of cases.

No worries. I just removed an infrequently used vi:<pick> tab. Goodbye problem.
