If you are feeling a little nostalgic, take a look at Windows 3 "File Manager" that an retired Microsoft engineer reinvented for Windows 10. This brought back some memories.

Re: Feeling nostalgic: File Manager from Windows 3
That's it, the ultimate File Manager I was waiting for. Now I'll be able to stop coming on this forum and start being productive for a change. Goodbye XY!
Re: Feeling nostalgic: File Manager from Windows 3
Although File Manager continued to be available in later versions of Windows, Microsoft switched to the more modern File Explorer starting in Windows 95.
Unlike Windows 10's File Explorer, the File Manager features a dual-pane view which offers access to the folder and the files on the same screen. Microsoft has also updated the File Manager with support for drag and drop, mapping the keyboard shortcuts and compatibility improvements for Windows 10.
Although the Windows File Manager is no longer a modern tool, the app allows you to see a bit of Windows history and get a feel for how it all started. You can install the classic Windows 3.0's File Manager on your Windows 10 PC to get back to simpler times and for a sense of nostalgia.
