Hi There,
Can XYplorer search "inside" documents? Ie. search the contents of documents? Google Desktop used to do that but is no longer active.
If not, what tool do you recommend to do that?
Thanks!

I use Everythings content indexing and the script to show the search results as Paper folder.
Also you can query the Windows search index using the XY script for Everything.

Re: Search Inside Documents
I actually need the opposite:
I want to search in the raw data, i.e. search in all the PDF documents if any contains the code /BitsPerComponent
BTW - I find it dangerous that the search opens the documents without further alert. It is not necessarily save with all documents.
I think the "raw search" should be the default.
It would also be good to permanently disable that the search enters certain directores, i.e. the attachment directory of the e-mail program or directories which store caches.
I would implement this by creating a file with a certain name in such directories. Apples Spotlight uses something like this or google with "robots.txt"
