On a "pure" Windows machine (not something like Wine ...)
Oh yes, definitely! Good ol’ Win 8.1 on a i7-5500U CPU!
Although a MacBook Pro is stongly on my wishlist, and that would call for Windows on ARM and Parallels…

Does this allow to navigate the MacOS file system with XYplorer? I guess, no.

It doesn’t indeed, but I could set up shared folder. I’m used to have al my stuff on an external drive, so it would be easy, albeit not very useful, I admit.

Probably someone has noticed that since last summer The Archive wasn't updated regularly. I have some issues going on but last night I managed to catch up till the last beta.
It was a fun thing to create, but now after almost 10 years is time for me to say a kind of goodbye. I'm switching to MacOS, but I'll try to set up a virtual machine with Windows 8.1.
Now that specific links for each beta and stable release are available, retrieving specific builds should be easier. I'll still keep an eye on here :) I'll sure miss XY!

Needless to say, a big thank you goes to whoever helped me during this years!!!

Switched my whole equipment (apart from a newly bought NUC 11 to still have access to Windows) to Mac as well

What's the "best" file manager in terms of functionality on MacOS?

Of course you can browse your Mac files with XYplorer in Windows on ARM. Parallels mounts your MacOS user home in Windows by default but you can add other mounts as well. Network mounts on MacOS are also automatically mounted on the Windows OS (see my screen shot).

My config is: MacOS Ventura 13.4, XYplorer v24.40.0200 and Parallels Desktop 18 Standard Edition Version 18.3.0 (53606) in Coherence mode which makes the Windows apps behave as MacOS windows. I am really impressed, everything works so smoothly. I even installed MS Office 2019 on Windows on ARM and runs like a dream.
