Hello, your software is really superb and superb!
I have a wish, can I fulfill it?
The wish is if it's possible to add an option to automatically activate tabs when hovering over them (or call it automatic tab switching), right now XYplorer's tabs are manually clicked in order to switch.
I recorded a video to show my idea, and want the end result to be similar to the video, just without dragging the file.

The image below shows the effect of automatic switching when the mouse hovers over a browser tab.
XYplorer will become much better to use if this can be achieved, thank you very much!

Re: Automatic tab switching when hovering over tabs
A tab switch is a potentially heavy operation. I don't think it should be triggered by mouse over.

Re: Automatic tab switching when hovering over tabs
Browser tabs in the mouse hover trigger function, I can set the delay, such as hovering 0ms or 50ms or 500ms before triggering, this feature I have used for several years, get used to it, I think it is particularly convenient and easy to use.
Because the work often need to switch tabs frequently, this feature helps me save a lot of click action.
Not long ago, I found in the tab settings in the "Auto-select tabs on drag-over" option, set the delay to 0 milliseconds, found that it is particularly comfortable to use, just this mouse hover trigger function must be dragged to the file will take effect, I want to let the mouse in the case of no drag file, you can also achieve the same effect, so I will be all set! I went through all the settings and found that there is no way to realize it, so I tried to consult you to see if there is any possibility to add an option to allow those who need it to be able to use the mouse hover triggering function.
I don't know much about the difficulty of implementing this feature, so if it involves too much and is too much of a hassle, forget about it .
Thanks again for creating a superb piece of software that has helped me so much that I can't live without it now.

Re: Automatic tab switching when hovering over tabs
It's not too much work, but it's just not a good idea. The mouse hovers over the tabs all the time. This should not trigger a tab switch.

Re: Automatic tab switching when hovering over tabs
You keep missing an important thing in your comparison: when you switch tabs in browser, each tab has one page, which more or less take same resources = and here you have tabs that may have say 10 items(easy and fast to show) or 10000 items(which requires much more "efforts" and resources to show). As a result, instead of making you workflow faster, as you imagine, having tab-switch by mere hover will add lots of lags and slowness, due to each tab would take own different time to fully show every item in it.XY1 wrote: ↑25 Dec 2023 17:18 Browser tabs in the mouse hover trigger function, I can set the delay, such as hovering 0ms or 50ms or 500ms before triggering, this feature I have used for several years, get used to it, I think it is particularly convenient and easy to use.

Re: Automatic tab switching when hovering over tabs
You're right, it's true that tab switching can't always be triggered when there's a situation where the mouse keeps hovering over the tab, this seems to be a bit of a tricky issue, let's just put this wish aside for now, and if you come up with the perfect solution someday, then consider adding this option .

You're right, I really hadn't thought of that , and thank you very much for your enthusiastic reply, which helped me understand some of the principles involved behind it.eil wrote: ↑25 Dec 2023 22:18You keep missing an important thing in your comparison: when you switch tabs in browser, each tab has one page, which more or less take same resources = and here you have tabs that may have say 10 items(easy and fast to show) or 10000 items(which requires much more "efforts" and resources to show).
