The download of the latest reference file fails for some reason... Is it possible for you to tell me the URL so I can manually update it?

Yes, thanks!

Now I think I know why the download keeps failing: The latest beta thinks its language version is 8.113 and tries to download Reference_8.113.lng when in fact it's only 8.112.

Tried upgrading using Reference_8.112.lng in the Interface Translation Tool but got the error message "The reference file version (8.112) needs to be match the current language support version (8.113)."

EDIT: Ah, I see the message in the beta change log now. Will wait for Reference_8.113.lng.

Yes, you were too early for 8.113. If you want to do 8.112 now you can use the last official version 20.10 (https://www.xyplorer.com/download/xyplorer_full.zip).

Not sure how to translate "Fat Gun". Where did the term come from?

Well, I think it came out of my mind. We already have "shot gun" in the same context, so I wanted again something with gun. It just means "big fat gun", there is no other secret meaning. I'm ready to change it in the next version if something comes up with something better. :)

Here is the description of its function:

Code: Select all

+ Live Filter Box in small dialogs: Extended the LiveFilterIsShotgun tweak
to offer an additional functionality: Fat Gun.
        -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Typed Pattern Applied Boolean Pattern Example for a Match
        -----------------------------------------------------------------------
ta com *ta* AND *co* Tags | Comment...
ag mme *ag* AND *mme* Tags | Comment...
odi so *odi* AND *so* View | Sort By | Modified
        -----------------------------------------------------------------------
So your patterns are separated by a space, auto-surrounded by asterisks
and AND-ed, i.e. the sequence of the patterns is irrelevant.
To enabled the Fat Gun mode set LiveFilterIsShotgun to 64 (or add 64 to
the current value if you are using the tweak already).
LiveFilterIsShotgun=64 'fat gun in the LFBs in small dialogs

Thanks! Where does it appear? I don't know what a "small dialog" is.

For instance:

And it only appears in the tooltip of the icon of the live filter box, and only if the user actually uses this undocumented feature (=tweak). So very few people will ever see this. :)

Another explanation of my idea behind this:
"Shot gun" = throwing many small stones at your target.
"Fat gun" = throwing a few big stones at your target.

PS: Thanks to Linkaday I just learned that "Shot Gun" is not present in the application at all. Sorry for the confusion.

May I ask where ms.0920 "Embedded thumbnail shown" appears? Is it a label or a message?

Thanks! It's kind of a clarification then.

There is no translation string in the Reference_*.lng file.
