It is a German, Tobias Giesen who has been developing this tool for 20 years. Autohotkey scripting tool with very powerful programming language, independent of applications. A must to automate tasks by simulating keyboard or mouse actions. Veracrypt powerful and very fast drive encryption, open source. It is the successor of truecrypt. You can create an encrypted virtual disk from a large (empty) file or an external partition (another partition of the same disk, external disk, SD card or USB flash drive). If you are veiled your external drive it is impossible to read. It happened to me one day in a hotel where I lost an SD card in the room without realizing it right away. Beautiful work.. maintained by a Frenchman. There is an interesting "warrant canary" story on their web page...

Everything can search content and even index the content for fast searches.

I removed the duplicate ref to autohotkey.
Thanks for the everything indexing info.. I had the "non content indexing" old version 1.4 installed , I just swtched to 1.5 alpha.. tests ongoing :-)

Many thanks for the heads-up on both WizTree (very fast) and Duplicate Cleaner 5 (which I have now purchased).

DC5 works very well on its own but also works very nicely with XYplorer with the DC5 EXPORT to BATCH FILE feature (listing all duplicates or 'missing/unique/non-duplicate' files) - the generated file can be used directly as a PAPER FOLDER - so easy access to all duplicate/unique files from within XYPlorer.

Cool! Not much has been said about the Paper Folder as an interface to other applications. I assume there are more interesting use cases out there.

I agree with you about Beyond Compare ..... but I increasingly find I can use XY for most of the folder comparisons I need to do. Since I discovered XY I am not sure I would/will buy any upgrades to Beyond Compare.
