Add/remove folders to/from the folder tree view

Post by Alt68er »

Hello together,

first of all: Happy New Year to all of you! -

I'm just testing the XYplorer and must say: I'm impressed!

But in the folder tree view I'm bothered by 4 entries I don't need there: Desktop, twice my user folder (Peter) with different icons but identical contents, and last not least one folder without name which cannot be opened nor deleted or renamed....

On the other side I'd like to see there the AppData folder of the current user for easy access.

Is there a way to let XYplorer do that?

1000 thanks in advance for your support!

Peter

Configuration | General | Tree and List | Items in Tree and List | Select Items...

Untick the ones you don't want.

Tick the "Links" folder and drop your appdata folder onto it (in the tree after acknowledging the changes).

Thanks for the quick answer.

The first part works very well.

But the second does not. The reason is that there is not Links-folder...

Execute this from XY's address bar: text "'" . exists("%userprofile%\Links") . "'";
Show the result

Thanks a lot. This folder did not exist because I'm not using all the folders offered by Microsoft but ones created on my own on a separate hard drive.
Now it works!

This way I don't have data on my system volume and can always doing an image restore without loosing private data...

Now it works fin. Only the appdata folder is not shown directly but as a subfolder of links...

Thanks a lot!

Exactly

You could always switch to the mini tree instead but you should read the help file to make sure you know the pros and cons...
