In a post re:
"Quick search in the directory tree", daandi requested the ability to filter the tree:
"What I was looking for, was a filter field on top of the treeview area, where I can enter the search term and than a filtered tree, that only shows the directory(s) that contain the term, is shown. In natural order (same order as the directories are on the hard disk).
Like a searchable mini tree..
A tree view without the directories that do not fit, in the same order as the full tree..."
In another
post re: the thread "'fast jump' folder lookup", ashelybrown suggested:
"another nice option might be a search bar for the Tree. Entering a search would suspend the Tree hierarchy view, and create a list in the tree area which would be a reduced set of folders not listed hierarchically which match the search. If the user double-clicks an item in the list, the folder is selected, the Tree hierarchy returns, and the folder is shown in the normal hierarchy."
A tree filter of some type would be a quite helpful feature, and hopefully not excessively difficult to implement.
