A Frequently Asked Question

How can I quickly test XYplorer with a fresh configuration?

Sometimes for debugging it can be helpful to run XYplorer with a "fresh" or "virgin" configuration (also known as "factory default"). Since XYplorer is a portable application this can be achieved very simply. Here are three ways:

Type fresh; into the Address Bar and press Enter. A new instance of XYplorer will open on top of your current instance. Note that your current configuration will not be overwritten by the "fresh" instance.
Run XYplorer.exe with the command line switch /fresh. Your current configuration will not be overwritten by the "fresh" instance.
Simply run a copy of XYplorer.exe from some writable temporary folder. A virgin configuration will be automatically created under that folder in a subfolder "Data". Now you can do your testing. When done you can safely delete the whole temporary folder.
