Release 23.90

XYplorer © 2024 · File Manager for Windows

XYplorer 23.90 has been released on 20-Dec-2022. Here’s a quick introduction to the main new features:

  • Native Context Menu. Now you can replace the normally slow shell context menu with a blazing fast native one.

First ensure that Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Context Menus | Hold Ctrl to show the native context menu is ticked.

Now simply hold the CTRL key down while right-clicking the selected item(s) to show the native context menu. This menu can also be opened one-handedly using the "rocker-click" (Left-Mouse-Down + Right-Mouse-Click).

  • AIFF Audio Properties. Now AIFF files (Audio Interchange File Format: *.aif, *.aiff, *.aifc) are supported natively, i.e. you get Length, Sample Rate, Bit Depth, Bit Rate and Channels, each in its own column.

    AIFF Properties.

  • Media Length Custom Format. The context menu of the Length column header now offers the toggles "Show Hours" and "Show Milliseconds". Lets you format the length display the way you like it.

  • Opens With [Release 23.90.0100]. Now File Info Tip and Native Context Menu tell you which application opens a file when you double-click it. No more surprises.

When you double-click a file, are you always sure which of your thousands of apps will actually open it? You no longer have to guess.

First ensure that that "Opens With" is ticked in Configuration | Information | File Info Tips & Hover Box | Show file info tips | Select Extra Fields...

"Opens with" in File Info Tip.

See here for how to show the Native Context Menu. Then hover the Open command with your mouse and find the desired information in the status bar:

"[Application] - Open" in the hover status of Open in the Native Context Menu.

  • Many Other Improvements. See change log (about 1.5 MB).
