XYplorer 24.70 has been released on 25-Jul-2023. Here’s a quick introduction to the main new features:
Zoom to Fit for Thumbnails. Allows you to enlarge smaller originals as much as the current thumbnail size will allow and turn your thumbnails into pixel magnifiers. On the fly. Every icon designer’s dream.
The "Zoom to fit" setting is found in Configuration | Preview | Thumbnails as well as in the context menu of list view related toolbar buttons.
Icons are small images. And usually (in File Explorer and other file managers) the thumbnails of small images are small, too. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In XYplorer you can now enlarge them. Compare the original size and the enlarged size in the following screenshots.
Zoom to Fit for the Hover Box. Hover the mouse over small image files and view their pixels like under a microscope. No clicks required. Useful fun.
The Hover Box now supports "Zoom To fit", so you can get an enlarged view of smaller images. (To enable the Hover Box tick Configuration | Information | File Info Tips & Hover Box | Show Hover Box.)
Toggle "Zoom to Fit" by pressing the "Z" key while the Hover Box is showing.
See how hovering a 32x32 pixel icon generates a 384x384 pixel Hover Box when "Zoom to Fit" is on. Zoom factor 12 (this is just example, you can go higher and lower as you like):
Of course, if the original image is larger than the Hover Box there will be no visible difference in the Hover Box.
Many Other Improvements. See change log (about 1.5 MB).
