Release 25.20

XYplorer © 2024 · File Manager for Windows

XYplorer 25.20 has been released on 22-Nov-2023. Here’s a quick introduction to the main new features:

  • Overall Spacing. Now you can fine-tune the overall spacing (or airiness, or density) of the main window. Do you want to see as much information as you can squeeze in, or do you prefer a more relaxed layout with larger click targets?

You can find the setting here: Configuration | Colors and Styles | Styles | Overall spacing.

And here is what it does. All three screenshots show the same tree and list, only the density is different. First the factory default:

    Overall spacing = 2.

    This is the highest density:

    Overall spacing = -4.

    This is the maximum slack:

    Overall spacing = 8.

Tip: The scripting command air lets you control the spacing right from the main window. Paste air 0; or air 4; into the address bar and press ENTER.

  • Dual Locations. Full support for dual locations allows you to open new folders in both panes with a single click, filter both panes with a single click, perform searches in both panes with a single click, and add the combined locations of both panes to your Favorites list. If you use dual panes, this is what you have been waiting for.

Here, a favorite has been defined as a dual location, kind of a dual favorite. Clicking on it will point both panes to new folders:

    Right before clicking on it.

    Right after clicking on it.

  • Highlight the Other Path. Now you can color code the path of the inactive pane in the folder tree. It can be useful to know what’s on the other side and where it is.

The Color Filter T:dir:<otherpath> highlights the folder of the inactive pane in the tree:

Upper pane is active. The lower pane’s folder ("System (C:)") has a mustard-colored background.

Lower pane is active. The upper pane’s folder ("Rock") has a mustard-colored background.

  • Many Other Improvements. See change log (about 1.5 MB).
