XYplorer 25.10 has been released on 04-Nov-2023. Here’s a quick introduction to the main new features:

• Matching Breadcrumb Bars
• Multi-Column Matching

• Matching Breadcrumb Bars. You can now match the colors of the breadcrumb bar to the custom colors of the selected tab. Extending the color of the tab to the breadcrumb bar makes a bold visual statement and is a welcome clue in poor lighting conditions.

  To enable the feature tick Configuration | Colors and Styles | Colors | Match breadcrumb bar with custom colored tab.

  To custom color a tab use these commands: View | Tab | Text Color... and View | Tab | Background Color....

  Here you can see how the color of the breadcrumb bar now adapts to the selected tab:

• Multi-Column Matching. File list filtering can now match a given pattern against three columns (Name, Comment, Tags) at once. Nothing can hide from you anymore.

  To enable the feature tick Configuration | Find and Filter | Filters & Type Ahead Find | Visual Filters and Live Filter Box | Multi-column matching.

  Tip: You can quickly toggle the setting via the right-click menu of the Live Filter Box (right-click the filter icon):

  

  Right-click the filter icon and toggle Multi-Column Matching on the fly.

• Serial Rename with Up and Down Keys. Improved algorithm. Now it better supports work at the end of filenames of different lengths. And that’s where you usually work when updating serialized or dated names.

  To enable the feature tick Configuration | General | Sort and Rename | Rename | Serial rename by Up and Down keys.

  Note: As of v25.10.0100, you must press the CTRL key in combination with Up and Down to get the behavior below.

  Here you can see how the caret is positioned when you move from rename box to rename box with the Down key while you are near the end of the filename. The position is calculated from the right side:

• Speed and Robustness. Improved performance for large file operations. Jobs with up to millions of items run smoothly, quickly, and reliably.

  Nothing to do, nothing to show. It just works.
